Movement, part 2

It was exciting to push this idea of movement to the next level. Again shooting through coated glass, movements and light itself was blurred and shaped to escalate the feeling of the motion despite the dancer frozen in time. Unlike the previous Movement shoot, light flooded the environment lifting these portraits further from reality. The dancer may as well be moving through clouds, in these dream-like images. In contrast, the darker images are more grounded, using light to illuminate the edges of the figure amidst a blurry background.

What better activity for a snow day than a photoshoot. Many thanks to Daniel, for braving the cold and posing with great grace and posture. The winter wonderland provided the excellent environment to create these ethereal images.
