The best relationships are the ones in which there is mutual benefit. So I'm continually asking myself how do I add value to my collaborators and clients? How can what I make tomorrow be better than today—for everyone?

These portraits were actually taken this past May but I hadn't had a break to share them until now. My peer at Boston University, Bastiyan, kindly modeled for me at the end of our final semester. The goal was to spend an hour or so and play with some studio lighting and more abstract portraiture. I definitely didn’t have an hour to spare that day, but made it happen. And I’m so glad that I did.

This type of experimentation allows for new discoveries and ways of thinking that can become useful later. Taking time out of a busy schedule to try something new is always worth it. This focus on learning and building will benefit more than just me, it will help current and future clients, creative collaborators and who knows, maybe even some people who see this post.
