Ashley

The further I get into my photography career the more I want to experiment. Despite the temptation to rest on what is most comfortable, I know that I need continue to press myself in order to do new things. The “same-old” gets boring quickly and I often find myself frustrated when I am repeating previous images. It feels like I’m wasting creative energy. As an artist, I think it’s important to continually explore visually and ask questions of myself and others. The incredible and often difficult process of discovery always results in something amazing.

With that in mind, I have begun exploring more fashion inspired shoots. The abstraction of portraiture has been fascinating to me for a while now but the application to fashion is new and something I want explore more. Many thanks to Ashley for modeling for me awhile back. I had a very difficult picking out shots to post in this post because there were so many good ones. Ashley is very talented and a pleasure to work with. In fact I will probably be sharing another post of the second half of our shoot, so stay tuned.
